Hello everyone, greetings from a new teammate in Schommer Media.
I am 21 years old. I am colombian and studied Information Technology at the University of Strasbourg. I am doing an internship with Schommer Media and in this blog I will tell you about the various experiences I have had working in this amazing programming environment!
For the last month I have learned a lot of things that aren’t really taught in the university. Such as cross-browser compatibility for websites (proper compatibility) or the elaboration of Newsletters purely on HTML with the proper compatibility with the many e-mail clients humanity has at its disposal. I have found that Outlook 2007 and 2010 are specially difficult specially on the rendering of images and the support for css padding styling.
Additionally I have been learning TYPO3 and what it involves. The Open Source CMS (Content Management System) is very powerful but it is rumored the learning curve is very steep. And I have found out these rumors to be absolutely true since to use the CMS properly a property based language must be learned. Its name is TypoScript. It is a very abstract language that requires very specific discerning skills for certain functions such as stdWrap.
I hope you have all enjoyed this brief introduction of the new Team Player at Schommer Media.
